This Privacy Policy describes how Castle Reptiles LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Scutelymobile application and related services (the "App" or "Services").

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Services.

1) Information We Collect

A. Information you provide

Account information: email address, username, password (or sign-in tokens when you use Apple/Google sign-in), and profile details you choose to add.
Collection and husbandry data: species, traits/genes, morphs, hatch dates, lineage, breeding records, feeder logs, events, notes, reminders, and other information you enter about your animals.
Photos and files: images and documents you upload or associate with animals, clutches, or your profile.
Support communications: messages you send to support and any information you choose to provide.

B. Information collected automatically

Device and app data: device type, operating system, app version, and related diagnostics.
Usage data: how you interact with the App (screens viewed, features used).
Crash and performance data: logs and diagnostics when the App crashes.
Push notification data: push notification tokens and device metadata to deliver notifications you opt into.

C. Information from third parties

Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier and possibly your email/name.
Payment providers: app stores may provide purchase and subscription status information.

2) App Permissions and Device Features

Depending on how you use the App, it may request access to:

Camera and microphone: to take photos/videos or scan within the App.
Photos/media library: to upload or attach existing photos.
Files/documents: to import or export data.
Notifications: to send reminders and service-related alerts.

3) How We Use Information

Provide, maintain, and improve the Services (including syncing data across devices).
Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
Provide customer support and respond to requests.
Send service-related messages (security notices, confirmations, updates).
Monitor, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4) Advertising and Marketing

We may display ads for reptiles and reptile-related products/services. To personalize ads, we may use information about the species and traits you track in your collection.

On-platform personalization: we may use your collection information internally to decide which ads to show.
Ad partners: we may share an interest segment derived from your collection (e.g., "ball python / pied") to help select ads. We do not share your full collection or contact information.

5) How We Share Information

Service providers: hosting (Supabase), crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics), subscription management (RevenueCat).
Notification delivery providers if you enable push notifications.
Advertising partners as described above.
Other users/publicly when you choose to make content public.
Legal and safety reasons if necessary to comply with law or protect rights.
Government requests: we do not voluntarily share your information — including your collection and species data — with government entities. We disclose only in response to valid, binding legal process (such as a court order); we will seek to narrow or challenge requests we believe are overbroad or improper; and where the law permits, we will notify you before disclosure.
Business transactions such as mergers or acquisitions.

6) Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes, unless a longer period is required by law.

Accounts that remain inactive for approximately five years may be permanently deleted along with their associated data. Signing in periodically keeps your account active. You may also request deletion of your account at any time.

7) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8) Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, object to processing, or opt out of targeted advertising.

9) Children's Privacy

10) International Users

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the App.
